I came across a good site yesterday called Photoshop Disasters. The blog shows all the mistakes that leading magazines, newspapers and ad companies make when promoting a product.
50 years ago I imagine that it was only goverment agencies like the CIA who did photo editing but if you pick up any magazine nowadays it’s difficult to find a picture which hasn’t been cropped, changed or manipulated in some way. Which is why I enjoy this blog so much. It’s suprising some of the pictures which have slipped through the net and made it onto the front page.

Hey Kevin,
I have been wanting to ask you about what program you used to make that awesome cartoon dude
you made a little while back.I want to add one to my site once I get all my css, html together and bust out with a whole new design. That template your giving out is awesome.
As far as Photoshop some people can just get in there and rock Me I’m lazy and when your lazy like anything you get the results(none). But now I have to buckle down and concentrate so I can whip out some bad ass themes, templates, etc Like I’m doing with that topsites link directory cause that’s simple.
Anyway can you actually do some research on what the benefits/disadvantages of hooking a link directory to your domain? And do a write up on it,it’s seems to becoming a hot topic and not alot of clear FACTUAL info. And I also noticed that blogs that talk about CSS and PHP have amazingly high PR for what you see on their page?.Keep up the great job Kevin
I stumbled this site and the other a few times for good measure
Hi John,
What cartoon dude are you referring to. Are you referring to the mascot BloggingTips used to have? That was done by a designer.
thanks for the kudos on the design - I plan on releasing more soon as well as developing a few myself from scratch.
With regards to link directories. Topsites are very difficult to promote nowadays but traditional link directories are still popular. In my experience it can be timeconsuming validating submissions are there are so many spammers out there you need to keep on top of it and it’s time I’d rather spend doing something else.
With regards to CSS and PHP sites, I believe many have a good PR because of the tutorials they write. Great informatative articles will be referenced a lot on other websites etc, particularly if the article is well written and covers a subject which isn’t covered elsewhere.
